My Life in a Book
My Life in a Book helps anyone to write and publish their own story, carefully guided by prompts. Stories are captured and collated into beautifully bound books as a shared gift for families and friends.
Lovework Studio collaborated with the team at My Life in a Book on their brand strategy, identity, book templates and digital design.
‘A colourful life’ is the leading idea behind the rebrand, reinforced by the rich palette, nostalgic imagery and loose hand-drawn illustrations. The verbal and visual elements act as prompts for writers, sparking memories and inspiring them to share their own story.
The symbol is packed with meaning – a signature, a sketch, an open book, a love heart and the M and L of My Life in a Book. Design elements have been designed as visual, verbal and sensory prompts to evoke memories and spur writers to write! The colour palette comes from a 1970s recipe book. The sketchy illustrations feature everyday objects, flowers and pets. Imagery from archives of old photographs capture friendships, people and places of another time.
